Divergent interfacial behaviors of homo-/hetero-phase boundaries in a dual-phase eutectic high-entropy alloy

The interfacial structures and behaviors are critical in determining the material properties. Our study aims to investigate such unique multiphase systems involving complex compositions. Herein, we report divergent of L12–L12, B2–B2, L12–B2 boundaries prepared via bonding AlCoCrFeNi2.1 eutectic high-entropy alloys (HEAs). Specifically, dynamic recrystallization (DRX) occurs L12–L12 boundary owing thermostrain-induced grain evolution. In contrast, B2–B2 may be realized by interface diffusion, no evident DRX small shear strain. grains only developed on L12 side because difference intrinsic structural traits between B2. diffusion elements contributed this dissimilar boundary. Moreover, a strain-induced B2II precipitation phenomenon surrounding was revealed high defect-precipitation sensitivity HEAs. particle depleted Al Ni within matrix, leading disordering. Zener pinning effect exerted precipitates quantitatively evaluated calculating corresponding limited radius RL = 1.8 µm.
